Our Parks and Recreation Draft Strategy is now available for public review!

In 2023, the Town launched the Parks and Recreation Strategy project which included a survey that received almost 700 responses, a series of six community open houses and a phone survey to gather feedback from residents on what their ideas were for the future of parks and recreation in the Town of Caledon.

The draft strategy has established a vision, mission and guiding principles for the future of parks and recreation, covering Recreation Service Delivery; Programs and Services; Events and Culture; Indoor Facilities; and Outdoor Facilities.

The Town of Caledon is developing a strategy that will best serve the community now and into the future and we want to hear from YOU!

The Parks and Recreation Strategy will guide our services over the next 10 years and beyond.

Please use one of the consultation tools on this page to share your ideas, provide feedback and ask questions.

Have questions regarding the project? Get in touch with a member of the team under “Who’s Listening”.

    Plan Process

The first stage in the process is information gathering, through research and community consultation.

The second stage will involve coordinating all the information in a visioning report that will set the direction for the plan – with more opportunities for public input.

The final stage will involve developing the draft Parks and Recreation Strategy, and collecting further feedback from the community, Council and staff before finalization.

Imagine, Plan, Play: Share your ideas for the future of parks and recreation at upcoming Open Houses!

We will be coming to a facility near you to engage and collect feedback on Caledon parks, recreation, facilities, events and support services.

What is this project about? The Parks and Recreation Plan will act as a road map for the Town in providing parks, recreation, facilities, events and support services for the next 10-years and beyond.

What can I expect at the open house? The Plan’s motto is Imagine, Plan, Play. The open house is the time to imagine: How do you currently play? What would you like to see in the future? How can the Town support play for all residents in every community? The open house is an informal meeting where Town staff and project consultants will be present to answer questions, and foster discussion. There will be informative graphic panels, and different ways to contribute your ideas (e.g., sticky notes, drawings, questionnaires, discussion etc.).

There will be six open houses, one in each ward:

A phone survey will also be used to gather feedback. If you receive a call, please participate and share your thoughts through the survey.

Parks and recreation play an important role in community building, engaging residents physically and socially, and improving quality of life. How do you want the next 10 years to look?

    Help us Imagine, Plan, Play!
